My Youth ,My Life！ 浪漫烛光 www.langmanzg.com As Samuel Ullman saying, Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple kness; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. But when I firstly read this essay, I did not understand the meaning of youth, given by him, at all. 浪漫烛光 www.langmanzg.com 浪漫烛光 www.langmanzg.com For me, youth is rather than a period of competion, and the basic of struggling with others in the world. Each time I run to the classroom from this main buliding to another, I know it is my life to go to classes every day. To be an outstanding university student, I can’t spend most of my time on entertainment lik other students. Most of my time was spent in the library or at the classroom, and in different kinds of competion, and also surf internet for obtaining information, where are usually thought as boring places. To be a translator and interpretor, I have to read many books in different fields, including management, economy, finance, literature and so on. Jane is truly an excellent person with good characters. Compared with her, I was nearly nothing. It was the first time that I felt self-abasement and depression when she told me about the achievements on her study. She will go to study for her master, while I am still struggling for my future. I did not understand why I can’t do well like her. But my mother’s words made me out of depression. She said, “You, are the unique one who can’t be taken place, even if you are not successful like Jane. You still have time because you are in youth. Now, I finally understand the meaning of youth, given by Samuel Ullman. I won’t feel unconfidence and depression, facing Jane. I know, it is my youth, my life that I should learn how to grow up, not grow old! |
