A platoon commander in 9th Armored Company –first lieutenant Ljuben Solarov: The Tank Regiment forms in column on the road,with 7th company at the front.The Germany started to fire at us with mine-throwers just after we passed the old Bulgarian border,which is several kilometers west from Pirot.There was no change in the initial order given.Behind 7th Company was 9th Company ,in which I was a platoon commander.

第9装甲连某排排长——柳本·索拉洛夫中尉：坦克团成一路纵队在公路上前进，第7连充当尖兵。当我们越过战前的苏联保加利亚边界时德国人开始用“布雷器”（？）向我们开火，边界就在皮罗特(Pirot)以西几公里的地方。最初下达的命令没有改变。在第7连后面是第9连，而我正是9连其中一名排长。

The road was winding between the heights.When we passed one sharp turn,I saw clouds of smoke from explosions,accompanied with heavy shooting.

道路从高地之间绕了过去。当我们经过一个急转弯的时候，伴随着猛烈的射击，我看到炮弹爆炸所形成的笼罩着的浓烟。

I went up the left height on road with the tank.ABOUT 400m from there,a German gun,hidden in the shrubs,was shooting at our tanks lined almost in a parade column.The first tank was shot,then the last one,and then all then rest one by one.There was a supporting wall for the river on the right side of the road.On the left,there were individual heights grown with shrubs and trees.A deploy of tanks was impossible.The site was perfect for an ambush.The German gun was not visible; it was very well masked.I fired at the direction of the shot smoke of the gun.At a certain moment,the German gun redirected its fire to my tank.However,it could not hit me because the driver has not tightened well the brakes and in the recoil of the gun,the tank gun,the tank glided back about 8m,I continued the fire and at the same time I was wathing our tanks burning. An order to return to the base line,i.e.the old Bulgarian border,came.

我的坦克开上了路左的高地。在从这里开始的400米开外，有一门德军火炮隐藏在灌木丛中正在朝着公路上乘阅兵队列的我方坦克纵队射击。第一辆坦克首先被击中，然后是最后一辆，接着我方被困住的坦克被一辆接一辆的“点名”。在公路右边是一道河堤，在左面，分布着若干个独立的遍布灌木林与树林的小丘。部署坦克是不可能的。这是一个理想的伏击地点。德国人的火炮从（我这里）也看不到；它伪装的很好。我朝着出现德军火炮射击硝烟的地方开炮。然后德国人开始掉转炮口朝我的坦克射击。可是它没能打中我，因为我们的驾驶员没有制动完全到位，火炮射击时的后坐力让我们的坦克后退了大概有8米，在我方坦克接连起火的情况下我仍在继续射击。然后命令撤回战前的苏保边界的命令下达了。

We listened on the radio(German one) in the evening,a special announcement that one 88mm anti-aircraft gun,with a commander a feldvebel,managed to destroy 11Bulgarian tank.

在傍晚我们收听了德国人的广播，在他们的特别报道说，一门由二级中士指挥的88炮摧毁了11辆保加利亚坦克。
