In 1941 Skoda tried to get back into tank manufacture, when it offered its prototype of the T-25 medium tank. It was clearly influenced by the T-34 design, as it had well-sloped armour and a turret well forward.

Skoda planned to use a new eight cylinder engine with an output of 450 hp, which would have given the vehicle a very favourable power/weight ratio of 22 hp/tonne and a high speed of 60 km/hr.The vehicle was planned to be 6.04m long and 2.75 m wide, with 640 mm wide tracks and a ground pressure of 0.68 kg/cm2. The vehicle was designed to cross a ditch 265 cm wide, wade in water 120 cm deep and negotiate a 40 degree gradient.

Skoda also developed a new 7.5 cm A18 KwK tank gun, semi-automatic breech and provided with a drum auto-loader. The gun's barrel was cleaned with compressed-air after firing, and the traverse of the turret was hydraulically operated. Though very advanced, this design did not elicit any interest from Wa.Pruf-6 and did not get past the mock-up form.

In January 1943, Skoda offered a self-propelled 10.5 cm howitzer on the T-25 chassis, under the designation le.F.H.43(sFL) Skoda. The howitzer was in a fully rotating turret, and as the competing designs from that time was removable from the vehicle. With the armour between 16 and 30 mm, the weight was calculated at 24.2 tonnes. The gun could fire a 14.8 kg shell at 610 m/sec up to a distance of 13 km. This vehicle was built only as a wooden mock-up and was not accepted for production.

The T25 is addressed in "Czechoslovak Armored Fighting Vehicles 1918-1948" by Vladimir Francev and Charles Kliment (pg 245).

It never left the drawing board in 1941, but here are details:

It was to be fitted with a new eight cylinder engine generating 450 HP, giving the vehicle a 22 HP/ton power/weight ratio and projected top speed of 60km/hr.

Tracks: 460mm wide, 0.68 kg/cm^3 ground pressure

Vehicle to be designed to cross a 265cm wide ditch, wade in 120cm of water, and climb a 40 degree incline

The main gun was to be a semiautomatic 7.5cm A18 KwK gun with drum auto-loader - both to be designed by Skoda. The gun tube was to be cleaned using compress air and the turret was hydraulically operated.

The Germans rejected the design, no reason is given for rejection. My theory is that Skoda just missed the boat, and DB and MAN designs for the "Panther" were just too far along by the time Skoda pitched their design. Skoda could have also been lucky and proprosed the 20 ton T25 at a time when the DB and MAN designs were going from 20-24 tons to 30+ tons to meet an ever increasing armor requirements.
